"What was odd—and thoroughly wonderful—is that we immediately formed our own community in the classes we held. And almost just as fast, we all became part of the community of the town outside the castle walls in which we met daily. So many of the townspeople of Cetara came to know us—waiters at restaurants, the young man who lived below me and who walked dogs every morning, the two women who ran a pasticceria, the older women who gathered every evening in the piazza, kids kicking soccer balls in the park, elderly men taking the passegiata every evening, even the men working the ferry boats to the other Amalfi Coast towns. I feel that any one of us could go back to the town and be welcomed right away, just as we were welcomed in the class every day by our colleagues and by Pat and Kathy."

"I wanted to sincerely thank you and Pat for such a wonderful workshop.  I can’t express my gratitude enough.  I came to Cetara with no expectations.  I hadn’t written creatively since I was 18.  The safe and rewarding environment you both set up in our morning workshops was unique and very appealing.  I have a long way to go to be able to write this way but I feel a journey has started and I am excited about it.
